which is more important???

in the business field, what is more important graduating from a top school without a business major or graduating from a no-name school with a bus degree??

i'd say definately top school w/o a business degree...plus a high GPA can't hurt

I would agree with poLarbeAr. Most people who go to business schools don't have specific business degrees, anyway. At the Anderson school, for example, there are almost as many engineering undergrads (19%) who go there as there are business undergrads (22%). http://www.anderson.ucla.edu/documents/areas/prg/mba/UCLAAnderson_Profile_2006.pdf

i agree with polarbear and flopsy as well.

companies also recruit raw talent... that is, bright students from top schools who didnt major in business but could easily learn real life business during training. investment banking firms do this... they recruit at top schools, all majors are welcome.

you guys are really great. thanks for all the advice.

No problem. :)
