Which is the best choice?

Out of the following colleges, which would be the best choice for ChemE? I’m not sure if I should choose a college based on overall reputation or rank of a major.

University of Delaware
Purdue University
Carnegie Mellon
University of Minnesota
Cornell University
Rice University

Please rank them. Thanks.

Also if you can do a separate rank list taking cost into consideration that would be great!

We can’t do that if we don’t know what you can afford. You can look at the Net Price Calculator of each school to see what the cost to attend might be.

I’ve always thought U Del’s program was great. Dupont is a major sponsor there.

Cost will be different for each person based on their financial and merit aid packages. Since price is a consideration, you should wait until you find out your net cost for each school and go from there.

Huh? If you don’t want to use published rankings then you need to tell us what are the things important to you.

Usually, your cheapest solution will be your in-state public, so money-wise Minnesota, Purdue or Delaware should be cheapest if you live in one of those states. Beyond that it’s hard to give advice without more info about your wants.

Wait until you have been accepted, and have all of the financial aid packages. Then come back here if you need help choosing.
