Which is the best housing complex for freshmen?

Its provided in the title.

It really depends on what you are looking for. If you want the TRUE college dorm experience, Nike/Hercules, Libra, or Apollo are your best bet. You will live in a double room (one roommate that you share a room with) and the two of you will share a bathroom with the double room next to you. The newest and nicest of these is Nike/Hercules but is also the most expensive. You won’t have a kitchen so a meal plan will be essential.
If you’re looking for an apartment style dorm (your own room, share a bathroom with one person, and have a kitchen/living area) you want to look into Lake Claire or the Towers. I personally live in Lake Claire this year and I really like it. It’s not as new and fancy as the towers but it has a kitchen which I love. I personally didn’t like the idea of spending loads of money on a meal plan when I can cook my own food. It’s all personal opinion. I’ve been inside the towers and they are realllyyy nice but pretty expensive PLUS you have to sign up for an enitre year contract (fall, spring, summer) as opposed to in other dorms (just fall and summer) So it’s an added expense.
Your best bet is to go on a housing tour or check out the housing portion of ucf.edu to see what is best for you. Apply as soon as you can so you get your first choice of housing! Good luck :)

I went Saturday and I really liked Nike/Hercules, and Libra (hall style)- In Libra there are two styles “pod” and “hall.” I didn’t get to see Lake Claire but they say they are almost impossible to get because they are in such high demand b.c they are in the middle of campus and are apartment style. I saw towers and didn’t really think they were worth the money. The kitchen is all squeezed in . I didn’t think they used the space well. You can also

Go here: for a couple of tours in one

And I can’t seem to find this drop down menu they used to have of all the housing w/ video tours so if you go here: and click on the dorm name you will be redirected to a place w/ video tours

Probably Nike/Hercules (also known as Academic Village). It’s right by the gym, is one of the newer dorms, and it’s really nice in the interior. They have the double rooms mentioned above, but there are also 4/2 apartment-style dorms in Nike/Hercules that are very nice. They aren’t available to most freshmen (unless you are a National Merit scholar or have a friend that is). But if you are living on campus for more than one year, I highly recommend the apartments. They are just as nice as the Towers for much cheaper.

I have a question, will freshmen be paired with other freshmen? I don’t really mind who I’m paired with but I’d hate it to be someone who’s not on the same page as me. I’ll be all excited for college, ready to make friends and enjoy my time there, I wouldn’t want someone who’s already sick of college and just wants to ■■■■.

^If you are living on campus in Nike/Hercules, Libra, Apollo, or Lake Claire, then yes, more than likely you will be paired with another freshman. These housing complexes are made specifically for freshmen. If you are in the Towers or somehow get into the apartment-style dorms of Nike/Hercules, then you may not be with all freshmen.
