Which Ivy do i have the best chance at?

lol.

the ivies are not my first choice, but more like a second-third choice. i want to go because they are a prestigious school, which will help when i apply to medical school, and they are very good schools, which means that if i keep up w/ the work and stuff, i will do very well on the MCATS and get in to Yale Medical school. (my dream)

so…

Actually, it does not really matter what undergrad school you go to, as long as you get a fine education and do well on the MCAT. I’m actually harboring the same dream, subsituting Yale for Harvard/JHU! What field are you looking into?

If you’re looking for a good school with a name that will pull med schools, any tier 1, 1.5 school will do just fine. UChicago is good, as is Northwestern. However, if you’ve got your heart set on an Ivy, Penn is very nice. Cornell is easier to get into, but you have to contend with the year-long bad weather (easier if you’ve spent your life in the NE).

Good luck!

thanks. anyone else have any idea/thoughts on my c hances?

bumpety bump

do you think being from Idaho will help me ALOT to get into Upenn or Brown?

Location itself isn’t that big a deal. It depends on how good your school is. Colleges look at you in context of your available opportunities. If you attend an elite prep school that offers 25 APs and take none of them, you’ll look bad. However, if you come from a small rural school that only offers 4 APs and you’ve taken them all + scored well on them, then colleges will be quite impressed despite you’re “less rigorous” coarseload compared to other students.

well, my school offers: 5 honors classes(i have taken em all), and

AP Chemistry-taking
AP biology-taking
AP calculus-taking
AP US histry-took, score=4
AP Stats-took, score=3
AP World History
AP english
AP German
AP Physics
AP goverment

what penn school do you plan on applying to? premed is unlikely. my cousin got into premed under regular decision with 1560 SAT, valedictorian.

yea im doing premed/college of science or whatever…
