Which Ivy Would You Choose...?

Which ivy would you choose to attend if you were accepted at all of them? Why?
(Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Penn, Columbia, Dartmouth, Brown, Cornell)

You can answer for
undergrad
grad school
if job prospects were the same
if reputations were the same
if locations were the same
or whatever you’d like.

Rank them from most prestigious to least according to your idea of them if you feel inclined to do so.

I realize there are a lot of non-ivy schools that have comparable or stronger programs or better program selections, but this is a thread about the ivies.

(Have fun!)

Undergrad: Dartmouth
Grad School: Cornell
Same Job Prospects: Dartmouth
Same Reputation: Dartmouth
Same Locations: Dartmouth
Whatever I’d Like: Dartmouth

Most Prestigious ----> Least Prestigious
Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Penn, Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth

Undergrad: Princeton
Grad School: Columbia… Yale for law

Most Prestigious ----> Least Prestigious
Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Penn, Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth

Undergrad: Harvard
Grad School: Yale (law)

Most Prestigious ----> Least Prestigious
Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Brown, Penn, Dartmouth (Colbert bump :slight_smile: ), Cornell

Are you guys serious about putting Cornell before Dartmouth on prestige?

Undergrad: Yale
Grad: Yale or Harvard Law

Most Prestigious----> Least Prestigious
Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Dartmouth, Brown, Penn, Cornell

Undergrad: Brown, very difficult choice.
Ideal Chimera: Brown atmosphere in Harvard location.
Grad: Harvard (math), easy.

Undergrad: Dartmouth (one of the most laid back ivy league schools)
Grad: Harvard Law

Most Prestigious-----> Least Prestigious
Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Dartmouth, Penn, Brown, Cornell

Undergrad: Yale

Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Penn, Columbia, Brown, Dartmouth, Cornell <-lol my list looks like it’s based on ranks. But it’s my personal vieww

Undergrad: Penn
Grad School: Harvard

If job prospects and reputations were the same: Dartmouth

Most—>Least Prestigious:
Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Penn, Columbia, Dartmouth, Cornell, Brown

Undergrad: Princeton
Grad School: Yale. Or Columbia . . .

undergrad: Brown/Dartmouth mix

Undergrad: Brown

Undergrad: Princeton (I’m actually at Brown though)
Grad School: Columbia/HBS

Most Prestigious ----> Least Prestigious
Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Columbia, Penn, Dartmouth, Brown, Cornell

Undergrad: Princeton, or Dartmouth
Grad School: Columbia (where I am now!), or Penn

I don’t see the purpose of answering the question if the reputations and locations are the same, since these things are what gives the university or college flavor. For instance, I went to a small women’s college in a large urban city. The city made students leave on the weekends when I wanted more campus life, and if I got the chance to choose again I would choose a college in a small college town that had a vibrant campus life. I also live nearby Princeton now and the town is very beautiful, and it’s so easy to get to New York from there as well as Philadelphia. Dartmouth has great school spirit and a strong department in my field.

On the other hand, being in a city for grad school was important for me, because besides my research area being urban adolescence I also feel like I could grow more as an adult and a person in an urban area. I absolutely love New York and Columbia has the perfect program for me, hence Columbia. Philadephia is also one of my favorite cities and Penn also has some great programs in my field, so that is a close second. Yale would be a good third (actually, Stanford would be better).

For the prestige, I think I’ll go with Harvard Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Dartmouth, Brown, Penn, and Cornell.

Undergrad: Columbia
Grad: Yale…maybe Harvard

Most Prestigious ------> Least Prestigious
Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Dartmouth, Brown, Penn, Cornell

I actually chose between Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Columbiaaaa. (I have posts detailing how I chose… feel free to stalk them.)

Undergrad: Yale
Grad:… Yale (Drama School + Law School = love)

Most Prestigious ------> Least Prestigious (I differentiated Wharton and other schools @ Penn)
Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Wharton, Columbia, Penn, Brown, Dartmouth, Cornell

Undergraduate: Dartmouth
Graduate: Harvard

Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Penn, Dartmouth, Brown, Cornell
