Here’s a list: [Majors in Yale College < Yale University](Majors in Yale College < Yale University)

There is not a single Marketing class even offered to undergrads. You can take them at the SOM with permission.

Yale does not offer a “business” or “marketing” or “communications” majors. I recall your asking the same thing about Columbia. The Ivies in general are based in the traditional Liberal arts camp.

Does the major I choose that I’m interested in affect my decision?

If you showed particular potential in a STEM major, that could be a boost. Otherwise, intended major has no effect on your decision

I mentioned marketing in my essay, do you know what’s the closest thing to marketing?

Just so I stay consistent

To be blunt I wouldn’t mention “marketing” at all. If Yale was interested in undergraduate business they would offer it and classes in marketing.

Perhaps say that you are interested in human behavior and psychology as it pertains to economics. “Marketing” is a low-level application of that area of study.

Here is a book that’s used in intro Econ and touches on “marketing” issues - go to page 81 and see if if you like this sort of thing which is as close to “marketing” as you will probably get at Yale.

Yes. If, for example, you write “marketing” down as your interest or intended major, Admissions might reject you as: (1) They don’t offer that as a major and if they admit you, you will mostly likely be disappointed by attending Yale, and (2) You have not done your due diligence on the majors offered at Yale.
