Which major should I choose?

I am in High School undergoing IB DP and is planning to sign up for schools in Canada. My top 3 university choices are currently UBC, McGill and Waterloo :slight_smile:

I’m confused on what to take for my major. I’m thinking either a Psychology & Nutrition route or Linguistics & Computer Science route. Can anyone please elaborate on the learning prospects I can attain from each of these routes? And also a list of job careers that would probably await for me after my Bachelors?

I’m also very interested in knowing a little bit more about what I’ll be studying if I took either of the routes. Anyone who has taken any classes in any of the subjects I’ve mentioned above, please feel free to tell me what kind of materials and what type of assignments I will be studying! :smiley:

I am planning to work straight after obtaining my Bachelors, but definitely see myself going to get a Masters sometime after I work. I’m not so sure about getting a Phd though…

I was a psychology major in college.

What you are asking is very broad. There are lots of careers and jobs that you can go into with any of those majors. Computer science probably has the most direct route into a specific kind of job (namely, software engineering) after college, especially with the combination of linguistics (natural language processing is a big thing right now). But there’s really no “best” route - there are several routes that may work out for you, depending on what you like.

But also, why those specific combinations? Why not, say, CS + psychology or linguistics + nutrition or nutrition + CS?
