Which nationality should I apply with?

Hello

I’ve got Serbian and Turkish citizenship. Which one of these countries do you think I should apply with, as in, would I have even a slight increase in my chances if I applied with Serbian or Turkish? Even 0.1% would matter for me, but I know just because I’m from one of these countries won’t get me in, but still :)

Doesn’t matter. You aren’t a URM for the purposes of ‘diversity’ measures. Are you applying as an international applicant? Just list both.

I don’t want to sound racist or anything, but I don’t know much about this stuff. I’ve read and heard that being Muslim + middle eastern kind of hurts your chances, KIND OF. It’s not a deal breaker, but still apparently it makes a slight difference. Once again, I don’t know if it’s true. I’m just wondering :)

Is an eastern European country better than middle eastern, in fact Turkey is a little bit of both, but still, any difference at all??

On the contrary, being Muslim is a plus because most schools, including Stanford, value a diversity of perspectives and Muslim students can contribute to the richness of life on campus. And no, which country doesn’t make a difference - but offering a unique perspective and life experiences that are unusual will certainly work to your advantage.
