Which nyu residential hall is closest to Central Park?

Which nyu residential hall is closest to Central Park?

Central Park is so far away from the NYU area that it doesn’t really matter. In theory, the Union Square dorms would be closest, but they’re still about 50 blocks away.

With all due respect shades, it really is just a subway ride away. Or if you like to walk - about 2.5 miles. Daughter has ventured to Brooklyn, Cloisters (Upper Manhattan), NJ. Not a big deal at all… But you are right, nwm should pick the dorm (s) he/she likes the best, as far as proximity to Central Park, doesn’t matter.

When I used to live in NY, I walked 40 blocks to work every day.

And that’s why it doesn’t matter. By subway the distances are neglible, and if you’re going by foot, the distance isn’t really worth quibbling over.

is it… reasonable to go there all the time, or not really?

(im a small town girl who is excited about NYU but well aware that she’ll miss nature while there)

I dont think anyone goes to central park every day. There is, however, washington square park, in teh heart of campus, so you can go there if your missing nature [although its not very big].

aran- Central park is very big and nice and definitely worth it for however often you’d like to go. You would also like the Cloisters, I’m sure. It’s a large park at the Northern tip of Manhattan. I believe you take the F line to something like 191st if I can remember correctly.

Don’t worry too much about trying to do everything while your there. You should definitely explore the city, but allow yourself to settle in, especially near the Washington Square Park/“campus” area. If nature’s your thing, though, you’ll enjoy finding your own place in Central Park or the Cloisters or any other park you may find.

LOL NYU is all the way downtown while central park is all the way uptown. you might want to invest in a map.

nwmpl, which college did you choose? I know you were trying to decide…

You might want to look into prospect park in brooklyn. It’s 15 minutes from the w 4 subway station and has the botanic gardens which are absolutely beautiful. New York has plenty of parks and public outdoor space for nature buffs. You’ll figure it out when you get here. Either way, central park is about a 15 minute ride from any NYU building in the city.

Jesus. Not everyone majored in NYC geography. The OP was just asking a question. No need to be snarky.
