So here’s my deal, I will be transferring after this spring from CC to a 4yr University my gpa is good and I’ve made solid choices in the classes I took at CC. I currently live in Pennsylvania so my obvious choice is Carnegie-Mellon, but in the event none of my long shot schools don’t workout, my safety net schools are, U Pitt, U Miami, Florida International, Georgia Tech, I call them safety net schools because they all have favorable numbers in accepting transfers, which school would be best for Business/Finance.

(In case you were wondering, my long shot schools I mentioned that I will be applying to are: CMU, U. Chicago(extremely long shot), Emory, and NYU (hey my chances are slim but if I don’t apply I have a 0% chance of getting in :)

Among the colleges you mentioned, University of Pittsburgh is the best alternative to Carnegie Mellon. Not only that, but the Univ of Pittsburgh allows you to take some classes at Carnegie Mellon while enrolled at their school–and the two schools are walking distance from each other. (I know since I took this walk with my son when he was looking at what business school to attend).

P.S. The University of Pittsburgh’s only weakness in my view is its career placement office. When the time comes to look for a job, you will need work extra hard to find the right employer for this reason.
