There seem to be a rather large number of categories that applicants fall into right now and the method and timing of the notification seems to vary as well. . Here are a few I can think of:

Accepted and Trustee candidate

Accepted and Presidential candidate

Accepted T or P candidate and also National Merit Finalist

Accepted and not T or P candidate but National Merit Finalist

Accepted and given Deans scholarship

Accepted without any scholarship

Mid-term grades requested and wondering why

No mail at all and feeling anxious

If you’re still waiting, just remember that most of the acceptances haven’t been sent out yet - although I’m not going to deny that I’m really happy I already got my letter, because it makes waiting on other schools a lot less scary.

So does a 1 who interviews but doesn’t get a trustee scholarship essentially become a 6 even though s/he was initially judged to be more highly qualified for merit aid than a 5? The interview begins to seem just a tad scary.
