Which one is the best?

I’m applying for phd program in Economics. I’ve got three offers from Indiana U, U Va and U Maryland. It’s a tough decision for me. Looking forward to hearing from u guys.

Btw, anyone knows the placement of these three schools?

In my opinion, Virginia blows the other two out of the water. Unless there is a significant difference in cost, I wouldn’t hesitate to choose UVA.

Brand, I agree that at the undergraduate level, UVA is significantly better than IU and Maryland. However, for a PhD in Economics, I’d say all three are roughly equally good. I would probably still pick UVa because of the overall reputation of the school and the locale (although IU is pretty sweet). However, the quality of the Econ PhD programs at those three schools is pretty even.

ah yes, I’m so used to discussing undergrad that I didn’t even notice the PhD part. In that case, I’d still choose UVA but don’t think the difference is huge.

Thanks a lot. It really helps.
Anyone knows the placement of these three programs?

University’s of Maryland’s program is excellent and has a good reputation. It’s also a very nice school.

I agree that they are basically all the same. Pick the school that you like the best.

You really should be doing the research on your own.
