Which one of top 50 universities would accept me?/Advice for Junior year

Hey guys, I want to know which one of top 50 universities would accept me. I’m class of 2015. And I’m Asian who came to US 2 years ago. Here’s my profile

  • Freshman GPA:3.3 (my GPA was bad because it was my first year)
  • Sophomore GPA:3.5
  • Total 7 AP courses (1 in Sophomore 3 in Junior 3 in Senior)
  • Varsity Tennis
  • Joined few clubs
  • 200+ volunteer hours(going to be over 250 hours after junior year)
  • I didn’t take SAT yet because I’m sophomore. But I just started studying and I’m getting 1800s and 1900s on practice tests. I’m planning to get 2100+ on SAT.
  • I go to very prestigious and competitive boarding school.
I know my GPA is pretty low but I’m going to work hard in Junior year and get above 3.8 GPA.
Which top 50 universities will accept me if I get above 3.8 GPA in Junior year and get 2100+ on SAT? What should I do to build up my career and increase my chance? Like what activities should I do in Junior year? more volunteers? I go to boarding school so my opportunity for activities is limited.

No one? Can someone please answer me?

If you get 2100+ in SAT and 3.8 GPA, then you can pick many schools out of the top 50.

but you know my Freshman and Sophomore GPA is pretty low. So if I get 3.8 GPA in Junior year, I can get accepted in any Top 50?(excluding top 10)

No, I would say most top 50 schools will be reaches (the 3.3 and 3.5 are not ideal for top schools). Focus on improving your GPA and getting a good SAT score, come back next year after that. Also don’t focus on the rank of the colleges you are looking at (rank is sort of meaningless), instead focus on fit…

I’m a science boy. I have bad grades in history and english but alwaysa A in science and math. I want to be a doctor and planning to major biology in college and take all premed courses. But I want to get into at least above average college. Do you have any suggestions?

I cannot imagine a prestigious boarding school where the opportunity for activities is limited. In addition, you have not posted any AP or PSAT scores for one to get a true sense of your academic abilities. Finally, you have said nothing about what you want to study.

Putting the above aside and assuming you score 2100 on the SAT, 700s on your Subject Tests, 3.8 GPA in junior year with all honors or better and 4s & 5s on all your AP Tests, then private schools such as Boston College, NYU, Brandeis, Case Western, Lehigh, Rensselaer, U of Miami etc could be possibilities.

I didn’t meant “limited” by that. I mean I have less opportunities than day students since I live in dorm and cannot drive. And yes my boarding school is top30 national. I have taken only 1 AP tests and the score will come out next week. and I want to be a doctor. Im going to major biology and study premed courses in college.

I’m pretty sure I can get 2100 on the SAT. I have like an year to prepare for SAT. And I’m already getting 1800s and 1900s on practice tests. I didnt even memorized the words yet. I will probably take MathII and biology for subject tests. And Biology only for AP exam. What above average college can i get in for sure?

You have also said nothing about financial need or preference for any geographic location. So, I am assuming these are not major considerations.

Above average colleges that would be matches, if you get these type of numbers will include Oberlin, U of Richmond, Bucknell, Kenyon, Lafayette etc. Also, highly ranked LACs such as Colby, Colgate, Bates, Macalaster.

dude you can’t just take premed classes in college
almost every college you go to will have you take some more well-rounded curriculum
