Which one should I choose? MIT or Stanford, MS in CE?

<p>Dear all, I’ve got admission of Master in civil engineering from Stanford & MIT.</p>

<p>Stanford: MS in sustainable design and construction, 5 quarters</p>

<p>MIT: M Eng in high performance structures, 9 months.</p>

<p>I am not quite sure about the final decision, as I am an international applicant. </p>

<p>I think 9 months may be too short for me, but MIT has a big name in engineering. So could you guys help me and give me some advice? Thank you.</p>

<p>What do you want to do with the degree. Are you paying for it or is your employer? Will you return to your host country? </p>

<p>The programs wont matter, they are arguably the best 2 out of 5 top schools for all branches of engineering. I would say Stanford so you can stay in the States for a year and half opposed to 9 months for MIT.</p>

<p>I will pay for it myself.
I hope I can find a job in the States after graduation so that I can get working experience in this most advanced country in the world. In a certain sense, I think working experience is more important than a Master degree.</p>
