which one?

<p>So I’m debating over which topic to use for my common app extracurricular essay…</p>

<ol>
<li><p>Summer internship at one of the nation’s top hospitals - did some interesting lab research, spent about 40 hrs/week for 9 weeks on this activity</p></li>
<li><p>Modeling for a photography company - had some photo shoots, photographer used my pictures as promotional material for his company which is a very well known photography studio in my area</p></li>
</ol>

<p>So as you can see, I spent much more time doing activity 1 than 2, and activity 1 does seem more “intelligent” so to say, but I’m worried that lab research is too cliche of a topic, whereas I don’t think many people would write about modeling! </p>

<p>If your research (or just the experience) was new or awesome, I don’t see why you can’t write an original and creative piece on it.</p>

<p>(granted, I am doing my EC essay on research, so this may just be me rationalizing. :P)</p>
