There are several activities i wish to undertake this summer but i am only able to do 2 of them and i’m not sure which to choose. There is teaching English to poor children in northern Pakistani villages, G.Y.L.C in washington, work experiance at an investment bank in New York, work experiance at a shipping company singapore, or an IB revision course which will help boost my grades. However, as we apply around october for ED im worried that although the revision course will help me in the long run, it wont affect my predicted grades which are the considered grades during application. Also how important are extra curriculars like these? Are they an important factor? Thank you for your help :)

I would like to first and foremost say not to pick your summer activities based on how they will improve your chances into getting into college. Most people who pick activities as resume boosters might miss an opportunity that they could have had elsewhere.

My opinion? Pick the two that you feel most comfortable with and that are preferable for your situation. You might want to make money this summer, but you also might like to travel. Pick things that most interest you. I feel that if you pick things that you are interested in and stay committed to them, that will be far more impressive than a full resume of obscure things.
