Which plcaement test should I take?

I have taken Algebra 1a my freshman year, Algebra 1 (they got rid of 1a/1b and combined to make just 1a which screwed up my math/science schedule…) my sophomore year, Geometry my junior year, and algebra II my senior year (now). The chart is listed below and I am not sure whether I should take the level 4 or 3 test. I have always gotten at least a C in all my math classes and have gotten a B+ both semesters this year in algebra II.

Make an appointment with the counselors at your CC, bring in your HS transcript, and ask them. They will be able to tell you which exam is appropriate for you.

If your Math Sat score was over 600 take level IV, if it was below 600 take level III.

Took level 3 and placed into intermediate algebra…Everything on test was from algebra I that I haven’t seen in a long time…I studied my algebra II notes and have a B+ in that class…If I want to transfer to a mid-top tier UC, would I have to be at a JC for 3 years to get up to a better math course? My major is communications.
Also, do you HAVE to complete your 1 year math before you transfer to a UC or private?

Looks like your going to take longer to transfer now that you got placed that low. I would say about three years as long as your a full time student taking 18units each semester. Usually, you have to finish up to a certain level math before you can transfer as its part of ge prerequisite. At my CC I have to complete Math 300 until I’m done with the ge for math.
