Which Pre-med Undergrad School in Texas is the best?

Hey guys!
I’m a sophomore pre-med student at Austin Community College right now, and I have to fill my application very soon.
Some people advise me to apply for a university that I can easier make a 4.0 bachelor’s GPA, and some people tell me that the name of the undergrad university that I go matters, so I should apply for a good university like UT Austin.
A good advantage that I will only have at UT Austin is that I can choose my home language as minor, which makes UT Austin abit easier that what it could be.
I also have a 4.0 GPA with the average of 16 credits per semester…
I really appreciate if u tell me your opinions.
Which university do you think is the best to apply?
Should I choose the easier one or the more prestigious one?
and even is undergrad school’s name important at all??

Choose the college that offers the best combination of fit, affordability and opportunities.

The name of your undergrad is not of zero importance, but its significance in med school admissions is far, far, far outweighed by your GPA, MCAT, LORs, ECs and how well you present yourself/your reasons for wanting to pursue medicine as a career.

If you make it into a medical school then it wouldn’t matter but if you couldn’t then having a community college and a ho hum undergrad school wouldn’t look good on resume.

Since you will be applying as a Texas resident, your undergraduate college may not be as important as how well you do with your GPA and MCAT and your ECs.

The best one is the one where you’ll earn a high GPA and be able to conserve cash for med school tuition.

? Why can’t you choose your “home language” as a minor elsewhere? What is your home language?

Med schools aren’t going to care if you go to UT, or TAMU or UT-Dallas, or Texas Tech or likely some other TX schools.

Why did you start at a CC?

Thanks a lot for your respond!.
My home language is Farsi, and actually I’m thinking to choose it as my major if I transferred to UT Austin. But I still don’t know if it will make UT easier than a university like TexasState for me?
And it’s just UT Austin that offers Farsi classes in Texas.
And the Farsi classes that I’m allowed to take are the upper division ones only.
I started at ACC because when I came here (about a year an a half ago) my English wasn’t good to start at a university, but I’m taking 16 17 credits each semester and they’re going fine so far…
You think UTA will the possibility of choosing Farsi as my manor, make UT Austin easier than other universities such as TXST??
Thanks again for your help

You might want to look over the course req’ts for Farsi as a major. Many students find that majoring in their home language is not easy, and may require courses that don’t interest you.

Is the major Middle Eastern Studies? Is it online or in classroom?

That’s true for me

That’s true for me

That’s true for me lol
There are many other topics that are more interesting than Farsi to me, and I wouldn’t take Farsi if it wasn’t an easy A.

Yea, that’s in Middle Eastern Studies of College of Liberal Arts. And I believe it’s mostly inclass with a few online classes.

Well, look over the specific course req’ts, because you may find that they’re not “easy A’s”. That’s a common missaprehension of native speakers.

Of course!
I’ll definitely look again, thank you again for your responses!

Do you have a green card?

Yes! I do.
