Which pre-med undergrad should I apply to?

I’m a HS Senior looking at schools with good opportunities for pre-med? (research, shadowing, volunteering, advising)
My SAT score is a 2290 (Math 800, Reading 720, Writing 770) and ACT 34. I’m a student in TX.
These are the schools on my list, of these I can only apply to a few, but I need advice on which ones to apply to…
• Dartmouth
 • Cornell
 • University of North Carolina Chapel Hill
 • Emory University
 • UT Austin
 • Stanford
 • Wash U St. Louis
 • Duke University

All of those except for UT Austin and Emory are reaches. Not just for you, but for anyone. All are great schools though. There are no ‘pre-med’ schools. You can go anywhere.

@momworried‌ Thank you! Are there any good safeties that you would suggest?

Definitely your state schools. You’ll probably get a scholarship with your stats. Depending how far from home you want to travel, look at Northeastern in Boston. Tufts. Not a safety but s great science/pre-med school. Tulane. University of Miami. I’m not too familiar with the southern states schools. I’m sure there are a lot of other great schools

@summerlover1 Did you take the PSAT? Are you a NMF?

As for where to go, you go to the school that makes you the be$t offer. With your stats (I’m assuming you have a GPA to match your test scores), and if you do your research and apply wisely, you should not have to pay much(or anything) to go to college.

BTW, aren’t you a little late?

You should also consider IS BS/MD programs with your stats.

<a href=“Good BS/MD programs in Texas - Multiple Degree Programs - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/multiple-degree-programs/582456-good-bs-md-programs-in-texas.html</a></p>

@momworried Thank you! I have applied to state schools already. @plumazul‌ I took the PSAT and was National Merit Commended because I missed it by a few points. I have already applied to some places, I’m just looking to add 2 more schools with Jan deadlines to my list that’s all. @artloversplus‌ Yes I have actually applied to both In State & Out of State BS/MD Programs.

What are your parents saying about what they can afford to pay?

It only depends on your personal preferences and financial situation. You are much better off asking yourself than us here.
If money are available for both UG + Med. School, then your personal comfort zone and stats will determine where you will attend.
