Which Private College

I am a senior in high school in Kernersville, North Carolina. It is a pretty small town and I am deciding which college I should be leaning towards. I have applied to seven schools and I am interested in a smaller school with small class sizes. I do not party, but I’m sure that will change in college, but I am really not into that. I want to go to medical school and also get the best education possible in the process. I play baseball and I’ve made all conference and everything, so sports is pretty important to me. I applied to davidson, richmond, william and Mary, unc, furman, duke, and emory. I am pretty normal, not too quirky, but somewhat quiet.
Academics:
4.0 unweighted GPA
5.0 weighted
Ranked 4 of 437
Taken 5 AP Classes and made three 5s and a 4 and 3
Taking three more my senior year and have 99 averages in all three
2000 on sat 640R 690M 670w
30 on act 35M 29R others I’m not sure

I’m not really interested on where I will get into. I’m more interested on where is the better fit. Or what does each college have that I would appreciate. Or, why is one college better than the other, without talking about who is harder to get into or prestige.

I know unc and william and Mary are not private, but I am considering those as well

You mean, which you should go if you get into? Have you already submitted your applications?

Did you apply to Emory’s Oxford College? [Home - Oxford College](http://oxford.emory.edu/) It has 900 students; you attend for two years before continuing to the Atlanta campus for the rest of your undergraduate education. If you apply by the 15th, you may even get merit aid (which is easier to obtain if you start at Oxford rather than the Atlanta campus).

I have applied to all and I am expecting to hear back March 1st. I applied to both oxford college and Emory’s “regular school.” it gave me the option of doing both so I did. I just want someone to convince me why one is so much better than the other and why

Until you have acceptances in hand and, if relevant, know whether the financial aid offered by those schools makes them affordable, it’s really not worth anyone’s time to get into a discussion of fit for each school. You’ll have plenty of time to compare and contrast when you have your actual options in front of you. Best of luck.
