Which question

we should get a poll on here for which app question everybody did…I went with #4-The Mad Hatter convinced me!!

I did #4 too!

Number 5. I wrote my own. I have to admit, after looking at past years’ questions, I was a little disappointed with this year’s.

I though #4 was math one.

I did the math one.

Yeah, #4 was math, #3 was the mad hatter. I did number #1.

5. I wrote about missed oppertunities after randomly searching for quotes and finding a good one. These questions sucked. I could answer them, but no where nearly as good as I could write to older prompts.

i did my h’elade #2 about my aunt’s kitchen

I did mad hatter…#3? I like how I can use the same keyboard key to type “#” and “3”

I did #5. I think the questions this year weren’t nearly as good as previous years. I wrote a short story about the string question last year.

^I acutally asked my adcom how he would recieve answers to old prompts. He basically said that because he is new, he may not notice that much, but not to do it because all of the other guys have seen every possible way to answer the questions that the essay will be commonplace and hurt a lot. Just something to think about with a story about a question from the previous year.

I mean, not for my UChi essay. I did a creative writing piece for one of my English classes based on that prompt. I thought the prompt was awesome.

ha i did q2 ^^ it’s the plane cabin ^^

I chose option 5 and for 2 weeks, my prompt was about what it takes to succeed on Earth. But I didn’t feel it showed personal connection, so I changed it at the last day to a Twilight Zone episode!

I am doing option #3-Mad hatter for RD.

i think im doing #4, where it asks to talk about an awesome place. i was wondering though, can i talk about the university itself? i visited the campus a few weeks ago and absolutely fell in love with it. do you think it matters?

I don’t think you should make your he’lade the UofC; it would just be like an extended ‘why chicago’ essay.

what do u guys think about the quote ques #1?

funny story bout quote for question #1: If you go to the Blog on the Uncommon App and click on the ‘responses’ for the first post announcing the ‘opening’ of the Uncommon App, you’ll find a really uppity post which just cracked me up; sry that I don’t have the link on me

4 a.k.a. Cartesian Plane essay for me. It wasn’t insanely mathy though, I tried to keep it readable for non-mathy people.

I did #2, he’lade. I hope they don’t care that my place doesn’t refer to a location in space, but in time :P
