<p>I am currently a first year at UVA and am wondering if a degree in McIntire School of Commerce is really that respectable as it claims in Business Week.</p>
<p>It’s good…since you’re already there, who cares, right? ;)</p>
<p>Unless I’m mistaken, UVA is in the top 10 in both rankings (#2 in BW and #9 in USNWR)–so I’m guessing that which one is more accurate doesn’t make much difference in your case.</p>
<p>P.S. My son took courses through McIntire last summer–in the advanced progression program where you finish 16 weeks of work in 4 weeks–and let me say that it wasn’t much fun doing it that way–especially since he took two classes at the same time (he was a glutton for punishment, I guess). He likes the school, but thinks the location is too rural for his taste. For anyone else who may be considering this summer program option, be aware that the minute you step into your first class session, you are no longer allowed to drop the course regardless of how you are doing in it. (My own son finished with a 3.0 average for the two courses, but would have like to have dropped one of them after the first week. Fortunately, he had a professor who worked with him to get the grade up to an acceptable level.)</p>
