Hey guys

I’m in college already but asking for a friend in high school.

Which rolling admissions schools require teacher’s rec?
i know U Mich and UIUC does, are there any more?
Dont give me princeton review’s list, b/c it lists “rolling admissions shcools”, but most rolling schools dont require teachers rec.

thanks if anyone could answer; it’ll help my friend tremendously.

i’m interested in knowing too

I think most of the more “prestigious” RA schools do…or they at least strongly recommend them.

RA = regular action?

I wanted to know any “rolling schools” that do…

I meant RA = rolling admission.

The thing is, it’s hard to comply a list of schools that require recommendations, because while most schools don’t require them, some still strongly recommend them. And there isn’t really a list for that.

It might be easier to specify what your friend wants - is he looking to apply to schools that will place a strong emphasis on recommendations, schools that look at them as a small factor, or schools that just flat out don’t want recommendations?

schools that will place a strong emphasis on recommendations

he has some unusual circumstances that will greatly benefit from recs

Aside from Illinois and Michigan, the only rolling admission schools I’ve found that consider recommendations to be really important are: U Tampa, Saint Olaf, Marymount Manhattan, Eckerd, Loyola Chicago, Hollins, and Salve Regina.

Of the other rolling schools, they’re “considered” at half, “not considered” at the other half…and the trend seems to be that the larger schools are typically less likely to consider them.
