Which school guys?

I’m currently at Utah State University pre-med but I am look at transferring to University of New Orleans. I have found the medical school acceptance rates for USU and the last couple years range from 60%-84% and UNO says on their main page that medical students are accepted 22% higher than national average. But I really don’t know…

Utah State or University of New Orleans?

22% higher than the national average doesn’t say much since the national average is lowish (maybe around 50%…so 22% higher isn’t impressive). Utah St’s acceptance rate would be similar or better.

If you’re instate for Utah State, WHY would you want to pay a much higher cost to go to UNO?

National acceptance rates are lower than 50%–more like 40-44%.

22% higher than 44 would still be in the low-mid 60’s. Not any different than Utah State’s.

So like mom2 said–it’s not a good reason to transfer

For all we know, they just mean 22% more than average or .22*44=9.68 and thus they mean 54%.

22% higher than 40% is less than a 50% acceptance rate.

jennifer…we need to know more about you. What is your home state? What are your stats? How much will your family pay?

Most colleges are “expensive” unless you can commute to a local public. We need to know what your budget is.

Do not pay any attention to this 22% whatever this number means. Be at school that you personally prefer.
