Which school is right for me?

I’ll try to make this as short as possible.

Graduated high school in May 2011. (Missed 2011 Fall semester deadlines for college.)
Will be applying to Fall 2012 semester.

I am: 18, Hispanic, live in California, parents make less than 50k a year(going to need a lot of financial aid), first generation going to college.

High school: 3.04 GPA weighted, ranked at 117 of 390, took Honors Pre-Cal my junior year but got a D both semesters, SAT(taking in Dec) hoping for a 1800+, did Track and field my senior year.

I want to major in either Computer Science or Engineering.

If you need any more info just ask. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Not sure if bumping is allowed. If it isn’t you may delete this post.

Are you sure you want to major in Computer Science when you got a D in Pre-Cal? I’ve heard that Computer Science gets into some concepts that will make you jump ship if you aren’t really comfortable with math.

Also, I’m not very familiar with California schools, but I would take a look here : [Cheapest Universities in California (CA) (Lowest Tuition, In-State) | College Stats.org](http://collegestats.org/colleges/california/lowest-instate-tuition/2) , given it appears that cost will play a large role in your decision.
