<p>You’ll be a more viable MD candidate if you do well in school – sorry if this seems so basic. Choose a school where you think you’ll thrive academically. “reputation” of undergrad won’t trump transcript and MCAT performance.</p>
<p>And, put serious thought to which of these schools will be the least expensive for you to attend. You will need big bucks to pay for med school.</p>
<p>My classmate passed up a full ride at U Illinois Urbana Champaign. Instead she opted to attend our HYP college at some cost. Afterwards, she had to get many loans and went to UI med school. She said she wished she’d done the opposite: gone to UI for undergrad and then went to the Ivy for med school.</p>
