Which schools could be considered a target for me?

I have been trying to find some more schools to look at, but the thing is that every school I like seems like more of a reach for me. So far, the only schools I looked at are Tulane (probably applying ED), Baylor (didn’t really like) and UTampa (safety), but I want to look at more schools that could be considered a good match for me. My stats are:

WGPA: 97.3 (school doesn’t use 4.0 scale, but i have gotten mostly As, a few A+s, and then only two B+s)
SAT: 1390 (R710 M680, planning on taking again but i’m not good at standardized tests)
Rank: 2nd decile in a class of about 180
AP: Bio (4), Lang (4)

Extracurriculars:
-Model UN (4 years, president of the club)
-DECA (2 years, won 1st place in statewide competition)
-Part Time Job (Worked in retail for over a year, and now have a second job in the fast food industry)
-Teen Leadership Academy (chosen by guidance counselor to go into the program sophomore year)
-Public Speaking Academy (continuation of the teen leadership program I was in the year before)
-Track & Field (3 years, not really good, more for fun)
-Service trip (I went on a self-funded service trip to Peru with the money i saved from working and volunteered at a school in an impoverished community and in an orphanage)
-Boy Scouts (11-12 years, did a lot of volunteer work but I am debating whether or not to add this to my application because i decided not to become an Eagle Scout, which I heard can make me come off as lazy or undedicated)

My courseload for senior year is: AP Stat, AP Chem, AP Lit, Physics H, Calculus, Macroeconomics, Government H

My main goal is to get into Tulane, but I know that it might not be possible due to my low test scores and lack of volunteering, so I would feel very relieved if you guys could give me some schools that would be a good target for me. Thanks!

What about Southwestern and Trinity in Texas? Loyola New Orleans? ASU Barrett? Colorado State?
All of those would be targets. Run the box to see if they be affordable then read their website and the description in the Fiske guide.

Did you try the ACT?

For a few years now, it’s been hard to get into Tulane (without some hook) with a test score below an ACT 32 or equivalent. You’re also not in the top 10% of your class.

What is your home state? How much will your parents pay each year? You may be sure to get into Tampa, but have you had your parents run the NPC to see if it’s affordable?

What is your major and career goal

Congratulations on your hard work and success! I think it’s great you’ve worked a couple of jobs. (Your test scores are not low.)

I agree with Southwestern in Georgetown, TX (not too far from Austin) and Trinity (San Antonio), especially the latter, just because it is more urban.

Rhodes College in Memphis might be a good possibility. Smaller, but an outstanding LAC and very beautiful campus. Like Tulane, urban and southern. Might be a high match/low reach, but you’d be a very reasonable candidate.

How about the University of Tulsa? Also terrific academics and beautiful campus. Who knew Tulsa has great Art Deco architecture? Probably more of a match.

How about Belmont University in Nashville? What a great city in which to go to college.

University of Richmond would be pretty similar to Tulane, but also a reach, though less so.

Good luck!
