Which schools hold auditions ONLY on their campus?

I think it would be useful to know which schools only hold auditions on their campus. This info would help for planning schedules, costs, applications, etc…

Some that I know of include Elon, Oklahoma City University, Texas State (you can pre-screen in person for Texas State but I believe you must go to one of the on campus auditions for your final audition). Schools are changing their requirements and audition process each year though so definitely check with all schools for the most current information.

You can audition for Texas state in Chicago. My D did, and it was a final audition.

Indiana, western Michigan, Illinois Wesleyan are some I know that hold only on campus auditions.

FSU

I think Baldwin Wallace is only on campus (although they do make an Interlochen visit for those students…)

This is very helpful!! Keep 'em coming!

I think James Madison is on-campus only.

Shenandoah

OU does regional prescreens and has the final audition on campus. Wagner has only one audition weekend on campus usually first weekend in March (you apply academically, then are asked to audition).

I have a general impression that many of the schools that only hold their auditions on their campus are ones with especially nice campuses!

James Madison only auditions on campus. We do attend Virginia Theatre Association and SETC auditions as recruiting events, but prospective students that we see there are invited to campus to audition. If someone lives very far away, has a significant conflict, or can only attend a date that is full, we will accept video submissions.

BW is on campus but they do Moonifieds.

OU is a final callback to campus but they have a couple of dates to choose from–ours was March 7th. It because you do a dance call–then song and monologue in front of their faculty panel and it must be a unanimous decision. They let you know the following week of their decision. I know it was phone calls to those who were chosen and letter to those not chosen.

Beware that University of Michigan does not come to NYC Unifieds for MT. I believe they do Chicago, so it is not a campus-only school. But I never understood why they don’t come to NYC. It was one of the reasons my daughter did not apply.

I may have misinterpreted this, but it seems to me that Otterbein–which DOES go to Unifieds–only does dance calls at their on-campus auditions (or at least, that was the case this year). Seems worth knowing if you think dance is your strength. Can anyone confirm whether I have this right?

I can confirm that Otterbein was at Unifieds- they were right across the hall from Ithaca, and I spent several hours waiting very near that spot  I could hear kids singing in the Otterbein room, so I imagine they did their monologues too. No idea about dance.

ONU accepts video audition as a final audition without exception - it’s just one of their options.

Otterbein-no dance at unifieds this year. They asked about dance background.

They asked my D to do a few “movement” things in her Chicago unifieds audition at Otterbein - but nothing that really showed off her ability to dance. I might have scheduled that differently had I realized.

And Otterbein was only at the Chicago Unifieds this year, so plan accordingly. No dance call and those auditioning were instructed to bring MP3 player but… My son was asked to get his sheet music for his songs because they had an accompanist in the room so be prepared.
