So I have heard from people that when you choose an architecture program you need to consider if you are more inclined to design or technology…but seriously, why can’t I just choose a school that offers both about right amount??
So I would really appreciate if you could tell me about these schools that I got accepted…
Cal Poly in SLO
USC
Pratt
Sci arc
UW

All accredited schools have to follow a very similar curriculum which is set by the national accreditation board. By the time you cover these courses you do not have the room to add a lot of other stuff. So every school you go to will have structures courses, mechanical courses, studio sequences, etc. The major differences is the emphasis that they place on technical/architectural issues within the studio courses. This can also vary widely within each school depending on the professor.

Of the ones you listed Sci Arc is the most abstract/design oriented, and SLO the most technical/practice oriented. The others all fall somewhere within that continuum. I think you can tell a lot about a school by seeing the work they show on their website, and talking to the professors and students.

Also the experience of attending USC vs. Sci Arc is very different. What kind of college experience are you looking for?

Once you get past the required stuff due to board as Rick suggested, count how many classes are required for things ‘technical’ i.e. structures versus things ‘theoretical’ i.e. history and theory type classes. DD1’s school features a neverending history and theory sequence that could be six courses or more in a 4+2 degree…
