Which Schools require FULL standardized testing reports? Also, Retake the SAT?

Hi everyone! This is sort of two questions rolled into one so thank you so much for your help!

My first question is, how can I tell if a school requires a full report of ALL of my standardized testing scores? I’ve visited a few of their websites and all I see mention of is that it requires the ACT or SAT. In particular, Brown and Stanford.

This leads to my second question. For a school that does require a full reporting of my test scores, should I retake my SAT? The scores I have are as follows:
SAT I: Reading-720
Math-630
Writing-700
Total-2050

SAT II: Bio E-790
US-770
Eng. Lit-740

ACT 1st Time-Composite-32
English-33
Math-30
Reading-34
Science-30
Essay-8 (Combined English/Writing=30)

ACT 2nd Time-Composite-35
English-35
Math-34
Reading-35
Science-36
My concern is that, if a school requires a FULL report of ALL of my test scores, my most recent SAT score of 2050 will hurt the rest of my application. Or am I being just being crazy and neurotic again? Thank you so much!

Schools should have their testing policies detailed on their websites. I know for Stanford you are required to report all SAT I and ACT scores, but you can choose which SAT II scores to send. On the side of your SAT, I would probably take it once more if you took it recently (i.e., a school won’t care if you took it at the end of freshman year just to see how you did) and if you practice extensively and know your score is going to be significantly higher. If you do practice tests and it’s only up 30 points I wouldn’t bother, since your ACT is outstanding. Schools know that some students do significantly better on one test than the other. Getting it up above 2200 would be great, especially for schools like Brown and Stanford, but your ACT is great regardless.

Usually you can find the information on the colleges site by using its search space and look for “sat act score choice”

As to Brown you can send anything you want. As to Stanford, you need to provide all SATs and all ACTs but can send whatever subject tests you want to send.

Note that all of them if you send both SAT and ACT will use that one they believe is higher to determine admission so it is not an issue to send both.

For Brown I’m fairly certain you can send just your ACT score. Stanford, however, will require all of your SAT 1 and ACT scores, although I don’t think the SAT score will hurt you much at all. Schools try to focus on just your best scores.

Thank you all so much for your prompt responses!

I’ll definitely be taking it again then. I know that Brown requires the SAT and 2 subject tests OR the ACT plus writing. In that case, would it still help to send my subject test scores along with my ACT or would it not matter that much? Thank you all so so so much!

It wouldn’t matter much if it’s optional, but given your high SAT II scores I certainly would send them. Especially if you’re a prospective Bio or History major.
