I am wondering which schools I should apply to. I want to know which of the schools below have the best balance between academics, social life, campus, public transportation, surrounding city, and are the most accepting of a person who comes from a non-wealthy family. Also, diversity, not just racially, but economically and mentaly?

~Stanford University
~Brown University
~Georgetown University
~Rice University
~George Washington University
~Columbia University
~Tufts University
~Reed College
~Pomona College
~Claremont McKenna College

Or is there just any school that balances academics and social life, is in or nearby an urban city, has good financial aid and is friendly?

These are all very selective or super selective, so which ones do you have any chance of getting into? Is this your entire list or are these the reach schools and you’re trying to narrow down the reaches?
Stanford is not close to a city.
Tufts matches your description very well.

OP probably means a huge number of students who think outside the box and come up with new and revolutionary ideas. But I’m not really sure.

If you feel you can get into any of these, then I think Stanford is very clearly your best choice. Great schools, great diversity of people & ideas (think “intellectual churn”), terrific environment.

I’d put Rice just behind it as a desirable match, perhaps as a sort of high safety for an elite student.
