4 Years of a Foreign Language

Main ECs are French Club, Prom Committee, FCCLA, Freshmen Mentoring

Which Schools are Reaches, Safeties, and Matches, and which ones should I take off my list?

American University

George Washington University

Mount Holyoke College

Boston University

Boston College

Northeastern University

Connecticut College

Also, could you make suggestions as to universities that you think I would have a good chance at in Washington, D.C., Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, and Vermont. Thanks!

Im just a junior so I’m not the best “chancer” but the only reach in my opinion is BC

Disagree with ^^ about GW. Early , you’d most likely get in. Regular decisions have become more and more unpredictable every year- take a look at least year’s RD thread- crazy. Your SATs are below their average.
And GW likes legacies- maybe that’s why he got in.

The biggest reach on your list is BC. Your SAT is below their 25th %ile.

U Vermont has rolling admissions, so you may as well apply there as early as possible.
Also, UMass Amherst- my brother had similar stats to yours (better SATs, similar grades), and got in with 20K a year scholarship. Didn’t go, tho. Went to GW, got in ED.

I’ll probably choose between GW and BC for my reaches. Which one of the two would I likely have the best chance at?

Boston College seems like a reach for you. You’d have a better chance at GW.

What about my chances between Boston University and Northeastern University?

Can you do ED anywhere, or do you need to compare FA packages?

And admissions are tougher at Northeastern than at BU.

FA is HUGE for me and will be a determining factor of where I go to school. The only college that I am sure of the practices need-blind admission is American, which is one of my top choices.

“… practices need-blind admission …”

This should be irrelevant for you. Why would you want to attend a school any less just because it is need-aware? :)

I’m not saying that I won’t apply to schools that don’t practice need-blind admission. It’s just that my stats are not the best and at competitive colleges needing as much FA as I do could be a factor in my admissions.

It could be, but there’s no way to know, so it shouldn’t change your actions, that’s all! :)
