You need to tell us what you are looking for:

1) areas of academic/professional interest
2) size and type of school (large public, LAC, mid-sized private, single sex, religious, tech)
3) location (urban/suburban/rural, what part of the country, weather, etc…)
4) culture (artsy, intellectual, quirky, rah-rah, granola, conservative vs. liberal, religious, single sex, etc…some adjectives please)
5) financial need
6) deal-breakers

With that kind of info, we can provide a range of suggestions.

academic interest:science - bio, chem, engineering

size: smaller would be better, but I like big schools too
type: as long as its not single sex

location: preferably urban but I’m willing to sacrifice location

culture: I’m fine with any kind of culture, a school with school spirit would be nice

financial need: Don’t have to worry too much

deal-breakers: single sex, no science majors in bio, chem, engineering

If you are looking at northeastern colleges, I’d suggest Villanova University in the Phila suburbs (you can easily reach Center City Phila. by light rail) and Lafayette College in Easton PA (1.5 hours west of NYC). Both are strong in engineering and sciences and are very selective but not absurdly selective in admissions. My son is applying to both of them. Villanova in particular has strong school spirit. Both are accessible to many exciting urban areas, but without the stress of being in the middle of a large city.

My SAT 1 breakdown is 640 reading, 750 math, and 710 writing. i dont have a regional preference. My ultimate career goal is to go to grad school in medicine. Boston, Villanova, Rice, Emory, and Penn State sound appealing

Holy Cross and Tufts both have very good pre-med programs. Holy Cross(don’t have to be religious) has science sponsored internships and new $70 million science building. HC has more school spirit plays a lot of Ivy schools in sports.
