Which score?

A bit of an “apples v. oranges” question, but here it is.

A few of S2’s colleges are flexible in that you can tell them which scores to consider. S2 is wondering whether he should choose his SAT critical reading score (640/88%) or his SAT history subject test score (700/73%).

I’d say go with the 700 over the 640, but the difference in national percentile gives me pause. But perhaps that can be explained by the fact that the kids taking the subject tests are more self-selecting.

Thanks!

Still wondering, so… bump.

I do not fully understand. Is this University going to average this into the superscore or what?.. Regardless, I think both are great scores. You should have the University consider both, because neither of the two will hurt him in his application, depending where he is applying.

Thanks.

To explain a bit, the colleges’s testing policy lets you submit three scores. A “score” can be either an AP, an SAT subject test, or a section of the SAT reasoning test or of the ACT. S2 already knows what his first two “scores” will be. For the third, he has to choose between the two I mentioned. So I was wondering which would be better.
