Which score?

My son’s ACT is 36, and SAT 2300(800M, 710W,790R), all one sitting. He got 800 in math and biology SAT11. Is it better for him to send ACT and SAT11s, or ACT, SAT and SAT11s to colleges. He is applying to colleges in the Northeast and Midwest.

They are both pretty much perfect, send both.

The ACT is with writing? I’d send it all.

Sorry, his reading is 710 and writing 790. Also GPA is average, 3.6. Yes ACT with writing. Thank you.

If reading is 710, then send the ACT http://www.act.org/aap/concordance/pdf/reference.pdf

Act

I would send the ACT plus go ahead and send the subject tests as a special bonus. Give them that extra information that lets admissions see you in the best possible light.

ACT is perfect, SAT is not, so why is there a question? Send the SAT IIs also.

ACT and SAT II’s

ACT…it’s perfect. And SAT 2’s.

What colleges?

It depends on the school.

“It depends on the school.”, how so? Doesn’t every college accept both ACT & SAT? His ACT score is clearly better.

With those subscores switched, I’d say ACT and SATIIs if the school will let you cherry pick.

Thank you all. We will send the ACT and SAT11.

When older s took both, his SAT was a1570/1600 (I forget his writing but it was strong). ACT was 34. We didnt send the ACT.

My son is perfect. Should we tell the schools that, or will it look arrogant?

While its not good to look arrogant, neither is this the time to be humble.

Students applying to schools in the East are more likely to send SATs. ACTs are more familiar in the Midwest. There is overlap, of course. There are differences between the tests, but correlations tend to be good. SAT/NYC and ACT/Iowa City.

Some schools like the SAT better than the act and some schools also require you to send all scores. IMO, you should send both. It’s not like the sat would make your son look any weaker than the act.

Wow what a terrible problem. Is this question for real?
