Which scoring is more accurate: BB or Grubers?

I’m taking ELITE SAT Academy and my scores are mostly consistent in the lower mid 1900s to high 1900s (1930-1990). The people at the academy said that because ELITE SAT tests are much harder, I can add perhaps 50-150 points to my score to adjust to real SAT tests.

I was curious what my actual score would have been in a real SAT and I had the BB and Gruber’s and Princeton’s lying around on my bookshelf (I still use them but not as often now) and I took a sample practice SAT test from the Blue Book.

I graded my sections and I was very gracious in scoring them by using the lowest number in that range suggested by BB. Total, according to BB, I got around a 1920.

I was all like WHAT?! Because that’s lower than my recent SAT scores at ELITE when I should have been around 2000s.

So I checked out Gruber’s and according to that book, and because this book only gave one number for each score, I deducted about 10 points so that I can be generous in CR and with writing I gave a generous score of 8 (I usually get 9s and 10s at ELITE). And when I totaled it all up I recieved above a 2100.

I didn’t bother with Princeton’s because Princeton’s score sheet was very vague (ex: 610-720 or something like that so I didn’t even try)

So what’s going on? Who’s more accurate? BB or Gruber’s? And if anyone knows where I can take online SAT tests where they grade it with an EXACT score, evaluate it, provide solutions, and grade my essay, that’d be most helpful for me to raise my grade from mid 1900s to mid 2300 (my goal) :)

BB is written by the collegeboard so it’s completely accurate. The collegeboard’s online SAT course allows you to do what you asked

Did you really need to ask this??? Of course the Blue Book is going to be more accurate. ITS AN ACTUAL SAT

BB comes from the company that actually makes the SAT, are you really asking if there is a more accurate book?

And thank you for capitalizing “ELITE” every time it was mentioned, it revealed to me that you are probably a proud person.

Both Elite and Gruber’s are third party SAT companies. Of course their versions of the SAT cannot compare to those of the BB. (made by ETS, the actual writers of the SAT)
It’s like asking if you would trust your own mother or a complete stranger’s mother.

And the whole rumor about adding 50-150 points to your score to adjusts to real SAT tests is absurd.

the BB is the most accurate. I just compared my June SAS (i checked if they scored mine right based on BB conversion pages) and the actual SAT matches with the BB conversion, except for CR which was off by 10 points but BB all the way!

I will never understand why people insist on giving unwarranted credence to third party tests. An artificially difficult third party SAT test does not necessarily mean that you will do better on the real thing than the fake SAT

also, no offense but typing ELITE in all caps makes you look kind of toolish lol

Hmm. maybe I just had a bad day. I’ll take another test some other day.

To Cortana431 and Dusterbug: I didn’t mean to sound cocky when I capitalized the Elite. I thought that since Elite spells it with all capitalized letters… Anyway, no pride in taking Elite was meant to be inferred from the capitalized letters.

Woah wait, w t f is elite anyways

Wait so everyone keeps on saying BB is the best so that basically means all thirdnparty books are useless and pointless? I mean they’re still good for practice to improve yourself, right

BB is more accurate.

Third-party books are only useful if you struggle with a specific concept.

Grubers is super easy. That’s probably why you got a high score?

we really need to get something up to stop people from posting these types of questions

Grubers is incredibly easy by the way, just do BB
