I’m currently a sophomore, and trying to decide what I should do this summer. I have two options, both of which I want to do. Neither are academically related, but I definitely am trying to keep colleges in mind in deciding what to do. One option is to competitively sail all summer, which means I would not be able to do anything else. I’m also on the sailing team at school. The other option is to be a counselor in training at a summer camp. This is basically a job without being paid, and it’s pretty impossible to get a job at the camp without doing this. It would guarantee me the job for next year. Any suggestions, or do you think that it doesn’t matter either way?

I think both are good options. Since you’re already doing sailing during the year, I would take the counseling job at a summer camp.
