Which SSAT score should I submit?

Hi. I’m applying to 10 boarding schools—all with various mean SSAT scores—and I was just wondering about which SSAT score I should submit.

I’ve taken the SSAT three times and attained overalls of 83, 91, and 92 (obtained in chronological order). Although it would make sense to choose the highest score, I’m not sure whether or not admissions will look specifically into the breakdown of my scores. As a result, I have listed what I attained for each section of the test for both scores:

Overall of 91:
Reading - 87
Quantitative - 82
Verbal - 94

Overall of 92:
Reading - 89
Quantitative - 88
Verbal - 89

As you can see, my reading and math improved the third time due to my increased allocation of studying in those subjects, but my verbal went down by quite a lot. I went from having one score in the 90-99th percentile to all scores being in the high 80th’s. At the moment, I’m just deciding which I should prioritize more: overall score or individual score.

Thank you so much!

May schools super score. Call your AO and ask.

Do you have the option of submitting your last two scores (91 & 92) ?

If so, then do it.

Your scores are strong for any school you apply to. Of course, some people with your scores get admitted to top schools while others do not.

I would go with #2 but the 91 is equally good if you like it better for some reason.
