I just got my SAT2 scores back, and while I’m really happy with them, I feel like I should retake Math2 just because an 800 seems attainable. My dad also wants me to retake the SAT1. Since I’m applying Early Decision, I’m thinking I should retake the more important one in October (I know some colleges say they look at November, but I’d rather be safe).

SAT: 2270
M-770
CR-730
W-770

SAT2:
Math2-760
World History-770 (I know I can only retake this in December, but I’m not going to).

I’m thinking of applying to good schools with my biggest reach probably being Penn (so not HYPS). Also, let me know if this post is just ridiculous and I should be happy with my scores. From a lot of people on here, though, it seems as if colleges expect 800 SAT2’s.

Thank You

I would definitely retake something, since it doesn’t sound like raising those scores would be really really difficult. Every little bit of your application counts, so higher scores would make that much more desirable.

As for which test to retake, you really couldn’t go wrong with either SAT I or Math2. If it were me, I guess I would retake Math2 since, yes, 800 SAT II scores are almost a given, especially if your intended major is math/science/engineering.

Wow that is crazy, I am in the pretty much exact same situation 2270 SAT I and 760 on Math IIC, and am also debating which one to first since I am also applying early to Penn, my parents suggested taking the Reasoning SAT in October, then taking the subject test in november and rushing the scores.

cellist, i have a 790 SAT Math II but an 800 Chem, and I intend to o into math/science/engineering. So should I retake Math II?
