35 ACT (36/35/36/32) taken in 9th grade, or 2350 SAT (800/800/750) taken in 11th grade?
I’m trying not to be THAT annoying CC’er. But every detail matters on the application when you’re aiming to get into schools with <10% acceptance rates.
Basically, I’m not asking which one is ‘better’, but which one shows me best as a strongly qualified candidate (especially for economics, my probable major)?
You may not be trying to be THAT person…but you are succeeding. Send either or both- honestly it’s not going to make a difference one way or the other. The odds are high that whoever reads your application will simply note that the number(s) tick the box and not take the time to parse which score you got which year.
By way of reference, Harvard gets about 10,000 applications / year. If the ad comm reader takes just 5 minutes to read an application- the whole thing, including LoR, essays, transcript, ECs- it will take 833 hours - or 23 7 hour days each for a 5 person AdComms- to simply read all of the applications once. Since each app gets read at least twice, and a fair number get read more than that you can see that there isn’t much time to spend on that level of detail.
And frankly, if the fact that you got a 35 as a freshman is the best or most interesting or compelling thing about you by the time you are applying, you are more likely to be one of the thousands of high-stat kids who gets turned down.

Gotcha. Yes, it’s a minor question regarding my app, but hey- here on CC we worry about everything.
One of the truest things on CC!
(nice scores, btw- but I am sure you have other strong pieces as well…)
