<p>my counselor mentioned something about Brown liking international experience when it came to applicants, so here lies my question:</p>
<p>should I write my essay about my church’s trip to Honduras, or being the drum major of the marching band?</p>
<p>HONDURAS!!! I think that would turn out better NOT because it’s “international experience,” but simply because it’s a subject that isn’t so common among applicants.</p>

<p>Actually, both topics are fairly common…write about whichever you think is an experience that’s unique to you or a story that only you can tell.</p>
<p>Write both and see which comes out better? My friend wrote her essay about a church trip to El Salvador and it was the sappiest, most cliched thing I have ever read.</p>
