Which UC Berkeley college has the lowest admission standard?

Does anyone know which college at UC Berkeley has the lowest admission standard? What are the most competitve and least competitive colleges to apply to at UC Berkeley? Which one do I have a, statistically speaking, better chance of getting into?

Please list the following colleges in order of highest admission standard to lowest admission standard:

Haas School of Business
College of Chemistry
College of Engineering
College of Environmental Design
College of Letters and Sceiences
College of Natural Resources

Thank you!

apply to the college that fits your interest. that college would be the easiest to get into and to graduate from.

changing your major/college for the sake of getting into berkeley is… well, a waste.

Actually, I would also like to know the statistics of admissions to each individual college. And Specifically want to know about College of Chemistry.

I’m going to agree with jaynele and say that it’s stupid to pick your major based on difficulty of acceptance. But anyway here’s a site with your requested stats: http://osr2.berkeley.edu/Public/STUDENT.DATA/PUBLICATIONS/UG/ugf06.html</a>. It looks like CNR and CED students on average have slightly lower test scores on admission. CNR and CED may assign non-academic characteristics greater weight in their admission process. For example, I bet CED cares a lot about your artistic ability.

Hey…that’s a useful link…bookmark

First of all, you can’t apply to Haas as a prospective first-year.
Second of all, I would say that all the colleges are pretty much the same, with the exception of engineering which is noticibly harder to get into. You should decide based on major because getting in and then applying for a change of college can be a hassle, and sometimes not guaranteed.

Question: If you are going to do chemical engineering, whcih college do you apply to?

Chemical engineering is offered by the College of Chemistry.

CED doesn’t base admissions on artistic talent - there isn’t a portfolio option. I’d be surprised if design or art classes weren’t looked for in applicants, though.

Apply to L&S if you are uncertain of your interest.

DUH!

That’s funny…she posted the same question in the UCLA section! Why not just aim for an easier school altogether?

CoC is about the same as L&S…and as was said earlier, only engineering may be noticably more difficult for admission han the others.

just apply where you’re interested…it doesn’t make much of a difference overall
