Which UC is best for me?

Do u need FA? If so, then how will u afford tbe OOS tuition?

What’s wrong w Texas public universities?

You need to calculate your UC GPA. OOS applicants can only use AP or IB courses in 10-11th grade for the extra Honors points. As an OOS applicant, you need a UC GPA of 3.4 to apply. Even with the minimum, your chances at the UC’s would be slim. Your best bets with your GPA and SAT/ACT scores would be UCR/UCSC and maybe UCI/UCSB. If you are in need FA as @GMTplus7 stated, an OOS applicant you will receive little to no FA from the UC’s and expect to pay close to $55K/year.

I would focus on in-state schools for the best financial aid.

As a CA resident and taxpayer, please bring your $100K in OOS tuition here. Stick with that UC plan

If I can just play a part in persuading 10 kids do this I will have raised $1million for the UC system. Please let me know I can count on you to help.

@mikemac as much as I would love for him to donate $100,000 to the UCs, it doesn’t look like they’ll even allow the OP to do so. As Gumbymom pointed out, the OP needs a minimum [3.4 UC GPA.](http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/freshman/out-of-state/)

OP have you considered the University of North Texas in Denton?
