Which UCSD College has the best dorms?

And please list a reason why :)

Also:

-Which dorm is the most quiet?

ERC. Their common rooms are gigantic and they have a table in them.

Well then I’m glad since that’s the one I got into! :)

How is the atmosphere? Are there a lot of parties and stuff at night in dorms at ERC or is it one of the more quiet colleges?

also, is it normal for a freshman to have a lot of friends who are older (sophomores, juniors, seniors) in college?

Dont get too excited colleghopeful…

While ERC has the nicest… the walls are thin as paper and you can hear a lot of things.

:/ oh boy…ok well i’ll have to buy really nice ear plugs then… and do you know about party-life in erc? Is it really wild or is the college relatively mellow?

Which college has the worse dorms?

I heard revelle…but I’m not positive.

Revelle has the worst dorms by far. The renovated fleets are pretty nice, however they still don’t compare to other college’s dorms.

Revelle has some really bad dorms, but if I had to give a vote for worst dorms, I’d pick Sixth. But thats my personal opinion.

As for party life in ERC. There are parties, just like in any dorm. But most of the parties happen in International House (I-House). But incoming freshman wont be put in I-House

ah ok good to know… I was hoping my floor wouldn’t get too noisy at nighttime due to partying… so it sounds like it won’t be any worse or better than other colleges at UCSD in regards to that aspect.

Also, is it common for freshman to befriend people who are in upper grades?

I’m in ERC too, so I’m glad they have nice dorms. With headphones though, hopefully it won’t be too bad. :)

Colleghopeful, what’s your major?

I’m undecided currently…but hopefully I’ll be able to major in bioengineering eventually :)

How about you?

Could incoming freshmen live in these “fleets” or are we supposed to live in “Argo/Blake”
And, how is the Revelle food?

Thx a billion

I don’t know about the first question but I heard revelle food is pretty good (better than ERC at least).

[Places to Eat at UCSD](Places to Eat at UCSD)

:)

Yes, the fleets as well as Argo and Blake are for freshmen.

As far as the food in Revelle, I personally hate it. It is the worst dining hall on campus in my opinion. Revelle has a pretty good market though, and it is open until 1am.

I heard the food in Revelle is the worst as well.

ERC does have the nicest looking dorms though since it’s new.

Oh man! Whoever told you that Revelle’s dining hall is good was lying through their teeth. It is by far the worst dining hall on campus.

And colleghopeful, it is common to be friends with upperclassmen

It is common to have friends in all classes if you put in the effort to get involved. Joining a club (especially one like Marshall’s Each One Reach One, pairing freshmen with upperclassmen “mentors”) will expose you to all sorts of people. I personally made most of my older friends in classes, as well. You’ll make friends wherever you get to know others–just get out of your room!

What about warren? I really want to be in a double, I feel like the single might be too expensive for me, and the triple might be too crowded. But I heard that due to limited space, we might be all put in triples? =/ I’m not sure about that. Are the warren dorms pretty spacious?
