You’re over-emphasizing the idea that there is a linear path to Yale SOM or any top MBA program. If you happen to be a viable candidate for a top MBA program one day, your choice of undergrad, your achievement there, your internships & knowledge gained, your actual jobs – MIGHT make you a viable candidate for competitive MBA programs. But if and when that occurs, you’d be absolutely stupid to target Yale only and not look at HBS, Kellogg, Wharton, Tuck, Ross, Stanford, Rice, Sloan, Chgo, USC etc. or to worry about their discriminating against GWU. The short answer: go for the cheapest. Its eventual choice over another great school is minimal when it comes to MBA admissions later.
