Which university from this list is better?

If I’m undecided, but leaning to study business, or digital media, or creative writing where should I study?

Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT)
UIC (University of Illinois at Chicago)
UIUC (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign)
Loyola University Chicago
DePaul University
School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC)
Illinois State University (ISU)

UIUC is the strongest overall. If you were certain you wanted to study the arts, SAIC could make sense.

Can you afford the U of Illinois, and are you ok with a large student body and campus in a non-urban setting?

Yes, I was accepted. I don’t want to accept any loans so I would have to pay $700 a year. About the large student body I’m okay with it if the class sizes are small. I was born and raised in Chicago, so the non-urban setting might be weird for me, but nothing that I won’t get used to. I’m not an outdoor kind of person anyways and I bet I’d be busy wherever I go to university to even think about the rural place. The only problem is the distance from home is very far.

I second @prezbucky

Maybe look into taking buses from Chicago to the U of I.

And… you may miss city life some, but i bet you will find plenty to do on campus or in town.

Are any of these significantly more or less expensive for you?
UIUC is a great choice. DePaul is a nice option if you got enough aid and really want to stay in Chicago.

UIC and UIUC are both the cheapest choices for me with around $1,000 a year
