Which University Should I choose?

Georgia Institute of Technology
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institue
University of Wisconsin, Madison
Pennsylvania State University, University park
Purdue University, West Lafayette
University of California, San Diego
University of California, Santa Barbara
University of California, Davis
Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Here is a list of the university I am admitted in. I am interested in Engineering, but am not sure, maybe I would want to do something else. Financial aid is a major point since my EFC is $948.00.

GaTech is only giving a Pell Grant. That’s it
RHIT is giving a $15000 scholarship. Other than that I’m getting around 6000 as federal grants
RPI is giving the same as above.
UCSB same as above
Purdue 10,000 as scholarship then 6000 as grants
UCSD same as above
WPI 18,000 as scholarship, 6000 as grants.

I am not a resident. But I have an attraction that for the UC’s, i’ll be a resident after 2 yrs. For Georgia Tech, after 1 year.

Unless you are 22 you won’t have CA state residency in two years. [Office of the University Registrar | Residency](Statement of Legal Residence (SLR) | Office of the University Registrar (OUR))
You can’t count time in school for residency at GT. [GT Catalog : Financial : General : Classification of Students for Tuition Purposes](http://www.catalog.gatech.edu/financial/general/classification.php)

No state is going to let someone come in from another state and achieve residency while attending school. It doesn’t make sense.

Rather than look at what the various schools are offering, look at what you have to pay for each. How does that look?

It is possible ,i’ve done all the reserach. but let’s just forget that atm.
I can;t make up my mind on a university.

Have you visited these schools and gotten a feel for the culture, people, and the kind of life you would have there?

What is the cost of attendance at these schools? Add the tuition, room and board, fees and transportation costs together, then deduct your grants. Of the remainder, how much will be in loans, and how much is just too much?
