So I have a 3.9 GPA and either I can go to the districts trade school and take a course on film production, editing, and graphic design yet not be able to take the AP classes I currently am or an art class. Or I could stay at the high school, take all of the AP classes, take art, and a broadcast class where they film and edit a school news show quarterly. Film and television production is what I intend on majoring in. Which would better my chances at getting in, the trade school with the film and graphics class, or AP and art classes?
Tisch doesn’t assume that you have any production experience when you enter. However, you’d have to be able to learn very quickly if you don’t, since most people do.
Therefore, I’d take whatever courses make you a more interesting better rounded person, not the courses that educate you in the craft skills of production, which you’d just learn again at NYU anyways.
