Which would you say is better to take: a certain class once a week or twice?

I’m trying to decide so that I can have more free time and space to take more units or if I get a job next semester.

My optional weekly or bi weekly classes are for
English 5(critical thinking)
and
Communications 20(body language- non verbal communication).

The rest are only available bi weekly: calculus || & Chemistry 1A except for Political science(U.S. government).

I’d have to kind of cram my units since I want to transfer in 4 semesters instead of 5.

My brother thinks I should take less like 12-13 units since 15+ was difficult for him. I’m taking 15 now but only struggling in one class.

I just wonder if 19 units are too much. If I take 16 I have to decide between Comm and PoSci and I dont wana take any less units.

If you get in the habit of limiting yourself to 12-13, you’re not going to graduate on time. 19 can be manageable, I’d say, although it greatly depends on what the classes are. I’d go fewer than 19 if something you’re taking relies on the class you’re struggling in now.

19 sounds like an overload. I think average is 12-16. I don’t think graduating on time should be your first priority if you can’t handle the load, so take it easy if you want to focus on good grades (but this would only apply if you pay by class and not by a set tuition). I would recommend staying at around 15 or take 12 credits if the classes are harder/more demanding.

I’ve taken both classes where one was once a week and once was twice a week. Go for once a week if getting skmething out of the class is not a priority (ie; a gen ed). Twice a week is better in terms of learning because in one week a lot can happen and I tend to forget important info or some assignments, but it was better schedule-wise to do other things.
