In my high-school, there were no weighted grades, and no +'s or -'s (as in A+, A-)
I took the “hardest” classes available (all the AP’s and honors, etc.) and did enough to get a 90%.
I’m going in to my senior year with straight A’s without having to work whatsoever, and if not for the fact that I take college courses at a major university as well, I’d be COMPLETELY unprepared for college.
For the sake of an example, we know that Junior year is supposed to be the most rigorous year in high school.
I took the highest level physics course offered at my school (on nuclear interactions and relativity), honors english, honors history, Honors adv. bio, AP Bio, and two classes at the aforementioned university. (Calc 2 and 3)
I did homework AT HOME on 6 seperate instances. That is not an exaggeration. I’m a bright guy, but there HAS to be something wrong here.
In my high school I usually have to study/do homework everyday, sometimes all day. It is not uncommon to see me studying on weekends and on trips. It is also not uncommon to see me studying from the moment I get into my house to the moment I go to sleep (when the school load is that heavy!).
You seem to have a more rigorous course than I do. Is your high school well respected? Do you find the tests just way too easy? From your curriculum you seem to be covering some very difficult material. Either your are a genius or you aren’t being adequately challenged at school.
Either way, you’ll have to work your ass off in college (if you plan to go to a good one). You will have to study at home (or your dorm) and pull some pretty hard ass all-nighters!! In which case prepare for a shift. Be weary, many people who found themselves in this very same situation failed to adapt to college and all the excruciating work that came with it! As long as you keep that in mind and make the appropriate transition, you should be fine!
